About

Digital Logistics was founded to specialize and focus on the "missing links" in offshore and marine logistics planning, execution and tracking. The vision-based closed-loop planning, tracking and mapping software is the core offering, and can be integrated with other logistics- and enterprise systems.

Based on feedback from personnel in the oil- and gas industry, there were 3 key areas to develop:

  • Improve our clients’ safety
  • Improve our clients’ profitability
  • Reduce our clients’ CO2 footprint

Digital Logistics AS – established in 2018 –  a technology development company focusing on innovative solutions for logistics planning, tracking and handling. The technology development department is located in Kristiansand and provided by the VOCA-team. Sales department located in Stavanger, provided by the Optilift-team.

Digital Logistics AS is sister-company with Optilift AS, both owned 100% by VOCA AS.

Digital Logistics offers a range of products to improve safety, efficiency and quality control related to logistics- and cargo- handling for offshore and marine industries.

At the heart of our solution lies our vision-based artificial intelligence technology consisting of innovative and effective algorithms and software for optimum non-contact object identification, tracking and measurement.

The team behind Digital Logistics has a passion for creating technology, tools and products that enable safer and more efficient logistics operations, using new and innovative robotic vision and artificial intelligence combined with intuitive user interfaces and visualisations.

Our people

Camilla B. Nylund

Head of Sales

20 years of experience in sales and marketing, and has been account manager for major oil companies during previous employments. Nylund is experienced in delivering complex solutions that involves improvement of work processes at customer sites. She also has experience in HR, recruitment and business development.

Torbjørn Engedal

Managing Director

Founder and Managing Director of VOCA AS, founder, Chief Technology Officer and Chair of the Board of Optilift AS, Managing Director and Chair of the Board of Digital Logistic As. Holds an MSc in Engineering Cybernetics from NTNU, Norway. Engedal has more than fifteen years of experience with industrial research and development, with main competencies within computer vision, robot technologies and industrial computer systems.

Albert Geldenhuys

Operation Supervisor

Albert Geldenhuys has extensive experience in mechanical design of tools and products for the oil and gas industry. His background is among other from designing, testing and commissioning of drilling machines and equipment at Cameron Sense (Schlumberger). In Optilift, Albert is in charge of development, production and deliveries of the Optilift Sensor Unit for end customers.

Kjell Skappel

Board member

Founder, partner and managing director of Stavanger Venture. Managing Director of TD Veen AS. Investor and boardmember in several technology companies. Kjell has previously held the position Regional Director for Europe-North in Cisco Systems and TANDBERG.

Tom Fidjeland, MSc

Board member

Vice President Engineering and Manufacturing – Drilling Systems at Cameron, Houston. More than 30 years experience from mainly oil and gas related companies in Norway. Special competence in strategy, management of change and technology. 20 years of experience from NOV, last years as Vice President Drilling Equipment Engineering.

Voca

Research and development of the Digital Logistics technology is carried out by mother company VOCA AS. The Digital Logistics product series is powered by VOCA EngineTM.

VOCA is a technology development company based in Kristiansand, Norway. VOCA develops technology for intelligent machines operating in uncontrolled, harsh environments. The innovative robot vision and artificial intelligence technology platform, VOCA EngineTM, has been developed for more than a decade, and has been powering applications in the offshore industry since 2014.
